Activities
Wakai Tea Association
provides its members opportunities to enhance their understanding of
the Japanese Tea by having special classes in the following areas of
the Urasenke Tradition of Japanese Tea.

Kaiseki and Tenshin Cooking
-
Tea gathering related cooking classes are provided when instructors are
available.

Japanese Pastries (Sweets) - One of the favorite
activities is to lean how to make sweets for Japanese tea gatherings.

Kimono Workshops - There are quite a few
rules in wearing kimono. Lean how to choose and wear a
kimono.

Ceramics/Clay Workshops - Wakai sponsors once a
year a ceramics workshop.

Group Studies - There are many ways to
make tea. One of the important aspect of the Tea is to practice
and refine body movements with a small group of people in the
tearoom. Wakai provides opportunities in learning Kagetsu and
advanced studies as a group.

Lectures and Lessons - To further our knowledge
and understanding in the Urasenke Tradition of Tea, Wakai is fortunate
to have an Urasenke master instructor from San Francisco once or twice
a year and other guest instructors when opportunities arise.
